Job summary
This role provides administrative support to the Nursing team. This involves performing as part of a team in order to ensure the smooth daily running of the unit. Most importantly, it means maintaining the highest standards of care and effectiveness.

The Therapeutic Apheresis Services team delivers a range of therapeutic apheresis procedures for patients across the country. These include performing stem cell harvests and white cell depletions; providing plasma exchanges for neurology, renal and haematology patients; carrying out red cell exchanges for patients with sickle cell disease.
Main duties of the job
In this role within our Therapeutic Apheresis Services (TAS) Unit you will be the first point of contact for internal and external colleagues. Your responsibilities will include:
- Co-ordinating the administration for the unit including dealing with telephone calls, updating and organising diaries, collation of test results and filing of confidential patient/donor information
- Working on your own as well as part of a larger team of specialist nurses.
- Managing your workload to ensure tasks are prioritised to meet specific deadlines
- Managing data collection, data entry and maintenance of spreadsheets and databases
- Managing stock levels of medical and administrative equipment to support workloads, ordering and receiving stock, and maintaining storage areas.
- Supporting your line manager with meeting arrangements, which includes booking meeting rooms, creating agendas and minute taking
- Attending training and development sessions at locations across the country and visiting hospitals in the region for patient record management.
