Job summary
The role of the Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation Advisory groups is to advise NHSBT on all aspects of Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation and ensure equity of access and best outcomes for all recipients.
The Chairs of Solid Organ Advisory Groups play a key role in providing leadership and professional input in solid Organ Transplantation to NHSBT and the wider Donation and Transplantation community.
As the Chair of the Cardiothoracic Lungs Advisory Group, you will play a key role in the delivery of our strategy Organ Donation and Transplantation 2030: Meeting the Need.
Working alongside National and International leaders in the field of Donation and Transplantation you will be an integral member of the OTDT Clinical Team.
Note: The annual salary ranges from£105,504 to £139,882, prorated based on your agreed PAs and calculated by your substantive employer according to relevant experience, with payment made by NHSBT accordingly.
Main duties of the job
The major role of the Solid Organ Advisory groups is to advise NHSBT to help promote all aspects of organ transplantation and ensure equity of access and best outcomes for all patients. The Chairs of Solid Organ Advisory Groups play a key role in providing leadership and professional input in solid organ transplantation to NHSBT and the wider donation and transplantation community. Accordingly, Chair of the CTAG Lungs Advisory Group will be required to:
1. Chair:
The CTAG Lungs Advisory Group
The Chair, and the Advisory group, will have defined administrative and statistical support from NHSBT to help deliver the aims of the group.
2. Attend:
The CTAG Lungs Advisory Group
The CT Centre Directors meeting (acting as Co-Chair)
The Lung Allocation Group
Other Lung working groups or sub-groups as required
Monthly OTDT Clinical Team meetings
3. Advise NHSBT on:
Matters affecting organ donation and transplantation
Governance issues as requested
Responses to CUSUM signals
Ad hoc matters as appropriate
4.Work with Chairs of other Solid Organ Advisory Groups as appropriate.
5. Meet regularly with the OTDT Medical Director to agree key objectives; helping to support peer review; ensuring regular review of policies, regular review of outcomes; supporting research and development, innovation, and service improvement.
6. Promote the ambitions of the Organ Donation & Transplantation 2030: Meeting the Need.
