Job summary
NHS Blood and Transplant is a Special Health Authority, dedicated to saving and improving lives through a wide range of services to the NHS. It has a wide and diverse remit including, blood donation, organ donation and stem cells. The Internal Communications team works across all these areas meaning you will work across a wide remit. Colleagues are key to NHSBTs success. Our colleagues need to know what is going on, how well we are doing against our strategic goals and what our plans are for the future. Experience in an internal communications role, gained in a large, complex organisation, will stand you in excellent stead. You will deliver advice on internal communications and engagement issues, advising on priorities, messages and channels, ensuring there is ongoing dialogue about our future priorities. You will lead the delivery of specific internal communications campaigns and initiatives. You will have a passion for developing creative content and in reaching a highly mobile and dispersed workforce.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will be responsible for communicating corporate news, information and campaigns in an engaging way using the most appropriate channels. Your responsibilities will include:
- Using audience insight to create impactful content for use on internal channels. Working with colleagues across NHSBT to research campaign and channel ideas to explain and educate about NHSBT priorities.
- Working collaboratively with Marketing and Communications colleagues to align internal content with key announcements and marketing campaigns.
- Working with the People Team to ensure key staff information and advice is communicated in the right way at the right time.
- Formulating and delivering internal communications plans and campaigns aligned with NHSBT strategic objectives.
- Working with senior leaders to provide strategic internal comms advice.
You will be required to travel and spend time away from base occasionally, which could involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.
