In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering technology platforms that support data and analytics across NHSBT both existing and future platforms and contributing to an organisational-wide data strategy. Your responsibilities will include: Strategic Leadership and Governance: Lead the development and implementation of NHSBTs data and analytics strategy, aligning it with organisational goals. Set delivery approaches, manage governance frameworks, and oversee commercial, budgetary, and people management. Product and Platform Oversight: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of digital data products, including the evolution of the Data Product Centre. Lead platform teams supporting critical infrastructure like Oracle DB, Microsoft SQLServer, Microsoft Fabric and PowerBI, as well as legacy Business Objects. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships across NHSBT and externally, effectively communicate complex strategies, and facilitate workshops and presentations for diverse audiences, including senior stakeholders. Hybrid role; base location at NHSBT centre confirmed after interview.
Main duties of the job
In this role, youll ensure the effective delivery of technology platforms supporting data and analytics across NHSBT both current and future systems.
Strategy Responsibilities:

Lead the development of digital data products across NHSBT, for both existing and new services.

Communicate complex data strategies and roadmaps to a range of audiences, including senior stakeholders.

Define delivery approaches to meet diverse user needs and ensure benefits are achieved.

Provide leadership across NHSBTs data and analytics community and collaborate on solutions.

Maintain strong ties with analytics teams across business directorates.

Offer expert advice on data and analytics programmes, simplifying complexity for various stakeholders.
Delivery & Team Leadership: Managing two direct reports and a team of 17:

Lead the Data Platforms team supporting Oracle and SQL Server infrastructure.

Lead the BI/Analytics team working on Microsoft Fabric and Business Objects.

Evolve the Data Product Centre and improve team structures and workflows.

Oversee planning, agile delivery, budgets, and team dynamics.

Lead product lifecycle delivery within large-scale data programmes.
