NHS Blood and Transplant(NHSBT) are looking for a Recruitment Administrator to join our Barnsley based Talent Acquisition and Recruitment(TAR) team until March 2026. This key role within our growing and developing team, will support the delivery of a comprehensive recruitment and administrative service to hiring managers and job applicants (both internal and external) by offering advice relating to the NHSBT policy and procedures and relevant employment legislation. You will also be a valued resource for our TAR team by assisting them with recruitment related activity. This will include carrying out administrative duties, providing support to customers in areas such as starters, leavers, contract correspondence and throughout the various stages of recruitment, always ensuring a first-class customer service.

Main duties of the job

Act as the first point of contact in advising managers on all aspects of the recruitment process, promoting best practice in line with NHSBT policies and procedures and UK employment legislation. Highlight any non-compliance to the Recruitment and Administration Supervisor/Team Manager as appropriate, to ensure statutory obligations are met. Communicate with both internal and external individuals and departments, using the most appropriate media Develop working relationships with recruiting managers and directorates across NHSBT and assist with the administration of selection testing and other selection methods where appropriate. Identify and highlight where recruiting managers have not conformed to basic policy or procedure and highlight key issues where appropriate

  • Arrange short-listing, interview and selection events on behalf of recruiting managers, confirming dates verbally and in writing.
  • Responsible for checking immigration status and completing the appropriate documentation for consideration by UK Boarders Agency, dealing with any follow-up actions.
  • Draft and issue offer letters, contracts and contractual change letters within required timescale, proof reading colleagues contracts and contractual changes letters prior to dispatch.
