Within the Blood Supply Directorate at NHSBT we have some ambitious plans to deliver change over the next five years. Working within the Programme and Portfolio Team you will be at the forefront of supporting these change programmes. The role will be varied, supporting work across donation, manufacturing, testing and logistics. You will help with the project work, undertaking a variety of duties to help ensure the success of these plans. This is a unique opportunity to expand your understanding of project/programme methodology and delivery. You will therefore have a good grasp of project management through the complete lifecycle, supported by an excellent grasp of IT packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and the ability to use these to produce professional reports. Good verbal and written communication skills are more important. Calm when under pressure, you will be a team-player with knockout organisational and prioritising capabilities. You will also be educated to HNC/HND level or equivalent, and you will be keen to learn
Main duties of the job
Your role is to support the Head of Portfolio and the wider portfolio team to make sure that the great work being undertake to make changes in NHSBT is delivered to the best possible standards There is a wide range of interesting and challenging projects and programmes and you will learn how they impact on our customers and what good looks like On occasion you will need to support the key meetings, making sure they are well prepared and everyone is clear what needs to happen You will need to help out within the Portfolio Team and support the wider team on key reporting You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice
