Job summary
You will be joining an organisation that is about to embark upon its most ambitious programme of change yet. You will be a key member in a team of highly skilled Technology Service Engineers. You will own, design, develop and set strategy in your own specialist area of technology while working alongside other highly talented technology engineers. Reporting to the Technology Service Manager, you will gain exposure at senior levels and be expected to navigate across directorate teams and work closely with 3rd party suppliers. NHSBT has a very successful track record in benefits delivery. You will be joining an organisation that is used to working within a controlled methodology but will also have the opportunity to shape the emerging agenda and influence the shape of things to come! Note: This role offers a hybrid working arrangement. However, you will be assigned a base location at one of NHSBTs main centres, which will be determined following the final interview outcome.
Main duties of the job
In this role as Technology Services Engineer Cloud, you will be required to actively manage infrastructure Cloud technology. The Cloud technology set includes IaaS and PaaS based services hosted in Azure and Oracle Cloud. Your duties will include : The design, build, configuration, administration, and support of infrastructure technologies such as compute, storage, networking, and operating systems based on Windows and Intel platforms. Support the delivery and maintenance of cloud-based IaaS, PaaS based components and services. The application of design principles and controls to optimise service availability, recoverability, and cost. The maintenance and risk management of existing cloud technologies and services through product roadmap development and associated change activities. Working with security and information governance functions to develop and maintain the required security and compliance posture. Contributing towards the management of infrastructure related pipeline requests, associated estimate generation and planning. You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.
