Job summary

This is a hybrid England UK vacancy, the successful candidate may be based at any of our main centres in the UK, by agreement.

Youll be joining the Data Security, Privacy and Records Management Team as it delivers its most ambitious programme of change yet. You will have responsibility for leading on the Records Management and Disclosure (FOI and SAR) Framework and Strategy to contribute to embedding records management and disclosure policy and process across the organisation, and ensuring that all records (paper and digital) are managed according to legislation, regulation and good practice.

Leading on all matters of disclosure and legal compliance. You will have the opportunity to gain in depth knowledge of all the amazing work NHSBT does and support those who support us.

You will equally have the opportunity to support, develop and establish new processes within the wider Information Governance strategic agenda, advising colleagues and other members of the team on additional Records Management and Information Governance remits.

Reporting directly to the Head of Data Security, Privacy and Records Management, you will gain experience and development as a senior member of the team and will have the opportunity to collaborate and advise across all NHSBT directorates to support the organisation to save and improve lives working across NHSBT with key stakeholders to implement and maintain robust disclosure processes to improve compliance rates for both FOIs and SARs.

Main duties of the job

This role will be responsible for managing the NHSBT Records Management and Disclosure service. It will promote an effective Records Management culture that embeds Records Management and Disclosure principles across organisational activities, ensures individual responsibilities are understood and supports good working practices throughout NHSBT. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, implementing, and maintain a robust Records Management Programme, managing digital and paper records throughout the lifecycle through to disposal to ensure records are managed consistently and effectively based on established standards and the legal and regulatory framework.
  • Supporting the Head of DSPR to deliver DSPRs strategy and vision for NHSBT.
  • Deputise for the Head of DSPR for the Records Management and Disclosure function as required.
  • Developing and improving Records Management and Disclosure policies, processes, and guidance for NHSBT, while staying updated on records management issues, guidance, legal and regulatory framework.
  • Working cross directorate, the post holder will be required to communicate and provide highly complex information to a range of internal and external stakeholders, building and maintaining constructive relationships at a variety of levels.
  • Providing specialist Records Management training and awareness to key members of staff following policy, MPD and SOP changes for Records Management.
