Job summary
In this very important role, you will support the Department and Team to ensure the Plasma Directorate functions efficiently.
Main duties of the job
- Providing comprehensive direct department management and administrative support to the each of the Plasma for Medicine (PfM) departments.
- Providing a comprehensive administrative service, acting as a central source of communication between the Department Administrators and Senior Managers in the Directorate and other Directorates and with agencies/contacts external to the organisation.
- Providing a wide and varied range of support duties across a programme of works which will include change, transformation, and business as usual.
- Ensuring work is effectively prioritised in accordance with the work priorities of the Plasma Directorate. This will require the post holder to exercise a high level of autonomy in managing the totality of the workload.
- Ensuring the smooth running of the Department and the timely prioritisation of all administrative duties including diary management.
- Acting as a communication channel between the manager, department/team, other departments and external agencies.
- Occasionally support the supervision of other admin staff as and when appropriate.
- Contributing to the agenda drafting, minuting and administration of Board, Board committees and other meetings.
You will be required to undertake occasional travel to any NHSBT sites and external venues to meet the requirements of the post (notice will be given)
