This is an exciting time to join and lead the NHSBT Charity, we are currently refreshing the charity and really driving it forward as a core vehicle that can help to save and improve even more lives.
This is a new role for the charity and will help to shape both our approach to identifying what programmes we fund alongside designing a bespoke fundraising strategy. Whilst the early stages of this role are around developing the core elements, the second phase will be about delivering the fundraising strategy.
As a new role within the charity the role will be fully supported and integrated within our Partnerships team, where this role will be a key member of the Partnerships SMT.
As expressed, a new role, an exciting challenge and one that the person in role can help shape with the ultimate goal of helping to improve and save lives.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will be responsible for providing visionary leadership for the NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) Charity, driving the development and execution of a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organisation's mission. Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing all aspects of fundraising activities, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, events, and individual giving, ensuring financial sustainability and growth.
- Managing and be accountable for the financial resources allocated to NHSBT Charity, including budget development, monitoring, and reporting against set targets.
- Leading, inspiring, and managing a high-performing fundraising team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to achieve fundraising objectives.
- Responsible for the development of policies and strategies related to charitable giving and ensure NHSBT's compliance.
- Act as an ambassador for NHSBT Charity, commanding respect from a wide range of senior professional colleagues and representing the organization at relevant events and engagements.
You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice
