Job summary
This is a central role within Digital, Data, and Technology Services (DDTS) which supports the Head of DDTS Portfolio Office and Senior Management Team (SMT) members. You will be responsible for leading a team of Strategic Supplier Managers and deputising for the Head of DDTS Portfolio Office as required. The focus is on managing and maintaining the DDTS supplier contracts portfolio, ensuring alignment to government standards for Digital, Data and Technology. This includes working in partnership with commercial teams and service owners to ensure appropriate governance and market is applied. With new and emerging innovative technologies this is a fantastic opportunity to support shaping the services required from suppliers which will meet our current and future NHSBT IT Strategy. Note: This role offers hybrid working, but you will be assigned to a base location at one of NHSBT's main centres.
Main duties of the job
This is a central role Digital, Data and Technology Services (DDTS) supporting the Head of DDTS Portfolio Office and Senior Management Team with the management of our full contracts portfolio. As well as leading a team of Strategic Supplier Managers your responsibilities will include: Supporting the implementation of the DDTS Sourcing Strategy and its four key priorities of a supplier segmentation framework, supplier rationalization, augmented resource management and future strategic supplier partnerships to support and develop areas of our existing service delivery and potential co-innovation. Acting as an effective gatekeeper and take a key role in supporting the Head of DDTS Portfolio Office and Service Owners with complex and influential supplier relationships, where understanding organisational dynamics, networks of influence and current priorities are essential. Developing and managing the DDTS contracts portfolio including establishing an effective renewal schedule process and engaging with key stakeholders across the Directorate in good time to either renew or replace existing supplier contracts. Ensuring timely reporting on the DDTS contracts portfolio to senior management and to the monthly DDTS Change Programme Board, ensuring that any risk and issues are captured and escalated appropriately. Maintaining the supplier performance measurement system through the function and ensuring that a common approach is adopted
