Job summary

You will perform Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) testing and interpretation of novel recombinant proteins and Gene therapy clinical grade products manufactured at the Clinical Biotechnology Centre on behalf of NHSBT for clinical trials. Contribute to the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) quality control service leading to release of reports or products.

You may use your knowledge to specialise in an area vital to the operation of a modern diagnostic service such as Quality Control, training and education or research and development.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will be required to:

  • Perform Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) testing and interpretation of novel recombinant proteins and Gene therapy clinical grade products manufactured at the Clinical Biotechnology Centre on behalf of NHSBT for clinical trials
  • Contribute to the GMP quality control service leading to release of reports or products
  • Assist in training and supervision of support staff
  • Performing various assays from day to day in the laboratory and contributing to the release of clinical grade products
  • You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours when required, with prior notice
  • You will be required to provide cover in times of operational difficulty, with notice
