Job summary
You will play an integral role in supporting our people to save and improve more lives. In this role you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and overall service standards for activity across the People Operations department, being accountable and leading by example within a complex and multi-faceted environment to deliver excellent customer service and standards to colleagues across NHSBT. There will be a range of exciting opportunities to influence and shape future services, as we embark on an ambitious programme to establish the core systems and processes A key element of this role will be to help our business units to identify and develop future talent and improve management capability and resilience through effective coaching and feedback. You will also take a lead role in driving forward improvements in engagement, wellbeing and diversity within the named directorate.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will be responsible for setting the strategic direction and overall service standards for activity across the People Operations department, being accountable and leading by example within a complex and multi-faceted environment to deliver excellent customer service and standards to colleagues across NHSBT, which will include :- Leading the HR Direct Service, providing excellent customer service to all staff in relation to HR queries, setting direction and supporting on service and excellence improvements Leading the HR policy and policy development function Leading the provision of Attendance, Probation, Capability casework and informal stages of grievance, disciplinary and dignity at work Champions and plays an active and lead role in the partnership working in support of activity across People Operations You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice
