Job summary

HR jobs don't often come with the opportunity to save and improve lives. Our team find the people that keep NHS Blood & Transplant (NHSBT) moving, providing vital services to the NHS and patients across the country. In this role, you will ensure contingent workers and candidates requiring visa sponsorship are brought into the organisation efficiently and in a compliant way. We are on a journey to transform recruitment, so you will have a big opportunity to make an impact.

You will need excellent organisational and communication skills, combined with experience of working with recruitment/HR procedures and policies, knowledge of immigration regulations and employment law, experience of working with suppliers, and the ability to work with data. You will join a small, friendly recruitment team, collaborating with customers and other colleagues across our national organisation.

Whilst public sector experience is not mandatory, you will need to demonstrate the ability and motivation to understand and adapt to the NHS and its values, including the importance of diversity and inclusion.

Main duties of the job

This role focuses on ensuring that NHSBT's important Contingent Workforce and UK Visa and Immigration processes are delivered efficiently and in a compliant way. This includes:

  • Act as the expert and co-ordinator for all issues relating to UK Visa and Immigration, including issuing Certificates of Sponsorship, acting as the key contact for the UKVI system, advising the recruitment team on Right to Work requirements, and inputting on policy decisions.

You will be required to undertake occasional travel to any NHSBT sites to meet the requirements of the post (notice will be given).
