Job summary
The Estates and Facilities Department covers a very large and diverse range of duties, which means that you would interact closely with many stakeholder groups on a wide range of matters.
You will work as part of a small proactive team of NHSBT staff and contractors who are customer focussed and have a can-do attitude, enabling colleagues across the organisation to carry out their duties efficiently and effectively.
The estates and facilities department oversee any catering, cleaning, grounds maintenance, front of house, postage, portage, space management, M&E and all other building related services. As well as contract management.
In role you would be part of a team accountable for the UKs largest blood centre, three donor suites, one warehouse facility and 6 team bases spread across the Southwest region. Its an exciting opportunity for someone who is hands on in an ever-changing environment.
Main duties of the job
In this role your responsibilities will include;
- Being accountable for the effective and efficient local provision of Estates & Facilities (E&F) services at the Blood Centre and at its satellite premises, in line with national standards.
- Managing the Estates and Facilities team within their sites.
- Providing a highly responsive and proactive service, in a customer orientated environment.
- Ensuring successful teamwork, communication, statutory compliance, budget control, performance management and business continuity.
- Being a subject matter expert in selected aspect/s of E&F management.
- Ensuring regulatory compliance within your scope of works. Coordination and management of subcontractor specialists.
- Managing change in a versatile environment.
- Internal and external stakeholder engagement.
