Our award-winning public affairs team are already highly regarded internally and externally. You will have the opportunity to help us build on this and to bring your experience, knowledge, and skills to help manage our public affairs, predominately in respect of plasma and organ donation, and our stakeholder and Parliamentary relationships.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will act as a trusted professional advisor to the organisation and senior leadership team on public affairs, political and stakeholder engagement. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting the Head of Public Affairs to design and implement NHSBTs stakeholder engagement strategy that is aligned with the overall communications and organisational strategy. Managing the Public Affairs team to create and implement stakeholder strategies that lead to the recruitment of Black heritage donors, increase all forms of donation, support the wider NHSBT business and keep key stakeholders involved and interested in our work. Ensuring excellent Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and Parliamentary engagement including responding to Parliamentary business on time and building relationships with key MPs. Managing the team to identify, to build relationships with and influence NHSBTs key stakeholders. Working closely with the Partnerships team to ensure coordinated relationships with both partners and stakeholders. Supporting the Executive Team to build and manage relationships with key stakeholders You may be required occasionally to travel and spend time away from base, which may involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice
