Job summary
You will be joining an organisation that is about to embark upon its most ambitious programme of change yet. You will be a key member in a team of highly skilled Technology Service Engineers. You will own, design, develop and set strategy in your own specialist area of technology while working alongside other highly talented technology engineers. Reporting to the Technology Service Manager, you will gain exposure at senior levels and be expected to navigate across Directorate teams and work closely with 3rd party suppliers. Main duties of the job
In this role as a primary engineer, you will be required to actively manage the Infrastructure technology within the Blood Technology Product Centre. In this role you will be required to:
Contribute and undertake design and engineering for other areas of technology in Application Delivery Infrastructure, Virtualisation & Wintel Platforms & Cloud technologies including; Citrix, VMWare / Wintel and Cloud hosting including IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS.
Contribute towards the overall design strategy for the Application Delivery technology, matrix manage a team of internal technologists and external suppliers to ensure secure and robust application infrastructure connectivity and platform environments are implemented.
Work with the Product Centre Leads and Technology Services team to ensure an end state infrastructure architecture required for the product centre platforms are in place.
Ensure required resourcing is planned with project/release/delivery work streams leads and resources are in place to support delivery when required.
As a key role within the Blood Technology Product Centre, you will be expected to build good relationships with others within the leadership team to deliver the objectives and the needs of the organization. You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.
