Job summary
As part of the final stages of a programme of change we now have the opportunity for a number of People and Culture Consultant roles within the People Directorate. As a HR practitioner with relevant previous experience, you will be provided the opportunity to enhance and build on your existing skills and knowledge. You will work closely with an identified Directorate, under the line management of a People and Culture Partner. The main remit is to support and develop the strategic and operational objectives of the Directorate. The ability to form and maintain relationships and quickly develop your own professional credibility with a range of colleagues is a must for this role. You will need to proactively manage your own workload that will be generated from your Directorate as well as managing expectations around this. Simultaneously you will need to be able to manage work that is generated from escalated queries which may have a degree of complexity to it. In return you will be seen as an experienced member of the wider People Directorate and will be afforded autonomy, support and the opportunity for personal development within an organisation with national presence and a global reputation. The post will be based at London Tooting or Colindale Centre. You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will provide an expert advice and internal consultancy service to NHSBT managers on a range of workforce issues. Your responsibilities will include: Ensuring that organisational objectives and workforce targets are achieved in line with employment law, best practice, national guidance and NHSBT values. Specific focus on: People support or lead for Directorate based service improvement and development activities and specific projects e.g. Organisational Change, workforce planning. HR Lead for Directorate Employee Relations casework and escalated people queries. Undertaking work to support managers/projects from outside of their defined management team if necessary. Leading Job Evaluation and Design for Directorate. Facilitating actions arising from the Staff Survey and supporting the delivery of the Action Plan.
