Job summary
You will help save lives as you scope, commission, write, edit and publish effective digital content in line with NHS web and brand guidelines. This key role in our Communications Directorate will see you support our core activity of blood and organ donation, with a particular focus on blood plasma, with a particular focus on blood plasma, by working across multiple websites and digital channels. You will work on needs analysis, finding content gaps and overlaps, while co-ordinating tests to improve the online user journey and identifying patterns and trends within online audiences. Your experience of working in a digital role will include using web authoring tools and content management systems (CMS). You will bring skills in web copywriting, editing and proofreading to a high standard. You will need a mix of creative and technical web skills together with an understanding of relevant regulations such as accessibility legislation. Your degree in digital communications or equivalent experience, will mean you bring a sound understanding of web usability and design. Your ability to manage your own workload in a fast-moving environment with frequent interruptions will make you stand out.
Main duties of the job
Website management activities, including content management, conversion rate optimisation (CRO), user analysis and digital project management Supporting our core activity of blood and organ donation in a digital capacity with a focus on blood plasma Scoping, commissioning, writing, editing and publishing digital content across all channels (such as web, mobile and email). Working on needs analysis by taking existing content, identifying content gaps and overlaps Working with colleagues, senior leaders and external stakeholders and partners to deliver content assets that are accurate, timely, high quality and to our style. Monitoring the performance of content and tools and working with a multi-disciplinary team to understand user behaviour and feedback You may be required to travel and spend time away from base, which could involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice
