Job summary
The HR Direct Advisor role is based in Filton and is an integral part in the People Directorate in delivering an effective HR Advisory service by providing expert advice and support to staff and managers nationally. Including answering HR related queries by providing advice, on a range of HR issues which is compliant with NHSBT Policy, employment law and best practice mainly by MS Teams, telephone or e-mail.The HR Direct Advisor is also responsible for managing a portfolio of attendance cases to closure or escalation to Senior People and Culture Consultant Gail Curtis to check.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of a dedicated team of professional HR advisors working as a central, contact to answer HR related queries for managers and staff nationally by MS Teams, telephone and email. Queries will cover interpretation of contractual Terms and Conditions, and HR policies and employment law. You will support managers by advising and coaching them in a range of HR policies and processes as well as managing a portfolio of attendance absence cases. In your role you will be able to answer the majority of queries in a quick turnaround time however, you will use your judgement to decide when more complex queries should be escalated to specialist Senior People and Culture Consultant who will manage more formal or ongoing cases or investigations. You will ensure that all queries and cases are recorded on the bespoke HR case management system to track activity, aid communications and provide management information on departmental activity. The HR Direct service is open Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm. Outside of these hours the service is supported by a knowledge base which can be accessed to provide online responsestheir queries or alternatively a query can be raised using the on line query form You will undertake certain HR administrative processes such as assessment of relevance meeting and will also have scope to regularly review, update and input to the i-knowledge database.
