Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a highly organised and self-motivated individual to join the CTU Data Management Team as a Senior Clinical Data Manager. This post is a permanent position based in Cambridge. The post-holder will be responsible for full clinical data management support for one or more clinical trials within the CTU portfolio from study design to validation and analysis. Tasks will include building and maintaining project-specific databases, case report form design, responsibility for data-entry and handling of data queries, supervising junior staff and liaising with site research staff whilst working to GCP and UK GDPR standards. You will be given full training in our procedures, and the opportunity to develop your skills further, working as part of the project team.
The ideal candidate will be a science graduate with a postgraduate qualification e.g. MSc or equivalent extensive experience as a clinical trials data manager. You'll be highly IT literate and possess excellent computing skills, with hands-on experience of designing, testing and using project-specific clinical study databases and case report forms, and a thorough grounding in query data management. With excellent organisational skills and capable of meticulous attention to detail, you'll be familiar with one or more clinical trial data management systems such as Macro, or Open Clinica. We are seeking someone who can demonstrate an aptitude for developing computer programming skills.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will be required to:-
- Provide support to staff at sites undertaking electronic data capture.
- Act as Lead Clinical Trial Data Manager for one or more trials within the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) portfolio
- Design, test and maintain project-specific clinical databases and case report forms, working as part of the project team.
- Build project-specific study reports within the database system.
- Supervise / mentor junior staff.
- Actively participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute to working procedure documents.
