Job summary

CHP is looking for a dedicated Energy Manager to help us make a real difference in local communities. Join us in delivering outstanding patient care and shaping a healthier future - your skills and passion can change lives.

Main duties of the job

As the Energy Manager, you will provide leadership and strategic direction for energy management across CHPs estate. You will serve as a technical expert within the Technical Services Department, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, deliver cost efficiencies and drive progress towards Net Zero Carbon targets. You will also advise on best practice in energy management and implement energy management processes and systems.

This is a regional role encompassing the Midlands, London and South regions.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Recognised energy qualification e.g., Degree/Diploma, specialist energy management qualifications or equivalent

Desirable

  • EMA, ISEP
  • Professional Affiliation e.g., CIBSE. ISEP, Energy Institute

Experience

Essential

  • Implementing energy management programmes and processes
  • Energy Procurement and framework agreements
  • Energy Contract management
  • Awareness of sector specific energy management requirements such as NHS EstateCode, national Net Zero Commitments and Health Technical Memorandum
  • Knowledge of lifecycle planning and delivery of energy improvements
  • Experience of working in a cross multifunctional team
  • Knowledge of different engineering disciplines and how they relate to one another
  • Experience of chairing meetings effectively
  • Experience of working with external 3rd parties to ensure delivery of remedial actions

Desirable

  • Experience of energy reporting software platforms
  • Delivery and management of asset condition surveys and appraisal guidance
  • Knowledge and experience of PFI or PPP contracts
