Job summary

We are looking to recruit a full time (40 hours per week) supervisor, office based within the Hull RMC. Our current opening hours are 7am 7pm Monday to Friday and 8am 1pm on a Saturday (rota based).

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, enthusiastic RMC Supervisor to work across multiple community NHS contracts. This is a challenging and exciting role and to succeed the successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and a flexible, proactive approach to delivering first class services. The post holder will oversee the training & supervision of a large administrative team and report directly to the Clinical Services RMC Manager. Training is provided although previous experience within Healthcare and Clinical Services is extremely beneficial.

All offers are subject to satisfactory references and Standard DBS clearance.

Main duties of the job

  • Support in the delivery of clinical services in the Referral Management Centre in Hull
  • Lead on the training of new staff within the Referral Management Centre
  • To provide an efficient and effective bookings administrative service working within established policies and processes
  • To ensure an exemplary level of customer service is upheld to patients, referrers and clinical team
  • The post holder must be able to show initiative and have the ability to multitask in order to carry out a wide range of specialist duties
  • There may be travel required as part of this role which will be fully supported by Healthshare

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To work collaboratively and provide support with key stakeholders such as Patients, relatives/carers, Operational Managers and Company Directors, Clinical staff, GPs, surgery staff Informatics, Finance, HR, and Service Development.
  • Supervisor responsibilities across the RMC, supporting other modalities during periods of absence.
  • Line Management responsibility for staff within a designated modality.
  • To be first point of contact for complaints.
  • To provide an efficient and effective bookings service for public and independent health care services, prioritising workload in accordance with business needs.
  • To ensure all work is undertaken to the highest standard and in accordance with the Key Performance Indicators as specified within the respective underpinning contract. This will include the management of all administration tasks and reports.
  • To be fully competent in the use of all patient/clinical/diagnostic systems used thought the Referral Management Centres.
  • To support the RMC Management team in co-ordination of the RMC department objectives
  • To feedback to the Patient Care Advisors any issues and concerns in an effective and constructive way as directed by the RMC Management team
  • To be a key holder and responsible for opening and locking up building and ensure cover when needed
  • To ensure clinic utilisation is fulfilled daily
  • Delegation and overseeing of tasks completed by the Patient Care Advisors
  • To demonstrate exemplary levels of customer care and support other team members as required ensuring consistent high quality communications.

Organisation:

  • To decide priorities for own modality and the wider service within the RMC, balancing patient related and professional demands, and ensure that these remain in accordance with KPIs and business objectives.
  • To create, manage and maintain daily task lists for yourself and Patient Care Advisors within your modality to maintain the high level of service delivery. Read just as priorities change.
  • To be aware of Health and Safety aspects of your work area, including your prompt recording and reporting of incidents and investigations, and ensuring equipment use is safe.
  • To comply with the Healthshare organisational and departmental policies and to be involved in their reviewing and updating as appropriate.
