Healthshare Clinic West London consist of Outpatients (7 consulting rooms, phlebotomy and minor-ops room), Imaging (MRI, X-Ray, DEXA, Ultrasound and Cardiac Diagnostics), Endoscopy Suite and Laminar Flow theatre for a range of day surgical procedures.
The Day Unit Manager will lead and oversee surgical procedures, recovery and ward areas, reporting directly to the Head of Clinical Services. The post holder will ensure clinical excellence and a consistently high standard of quality is delivered to our patients and ensure that professional and national standards are met. We are open to Senior Scrub Nurses working at band 6 or band 7 ready to take the next step. This is a hybrid role, with the successful candidate expected to be part of safe numbers providing services for a proportion of the working week.
The role will carry responsibility for leading on scheduling, staff allocation, embedding best practice and driving continual improvement. The Day Unit Manager will manage and have oversight of the various clinical individuals and teams within their area of the business. The role will be required to demonstrate management skills and the ability to support those line-managing their own teams.
Main duties of the job
- Plan for the clinical departments according to company standards for excellent service and growth
- Ensure teams are performing consistently to KPIs and service levels
- Ensure key processes and procedures are in place in order to ensure best possible patient pathways
- Ensure both local and national policies are implemented where needed to ensure safe and effective delivery of care to all service users
- Identifying areas for improvement and development both operationally and clinically
- Coordinate and supervise staff providing leadership to line managers to ensure provision of constructive feedback is given to all
- Provide personnel with clinical training and opportunities for continuous development
- Working across teams/functions to ensure any operational or clinical requirements continue to be met and support Clinical Leads to achieve the same
- Partake in clinical governance responsibilities. including the management of incidents, completing necessary audits and ensuring clinical quality and effectiveness is implemented
- Ensure that procurement for the clinical environment is regularly reviewed
- Be part of safe numbers and patient facing as and when required
- Take on other independent roles within the hospital as one of the senior clinicians on site, with training provided as and when required

Key Competencies- Recent experience in surgical services and delivery of surgical care;
- Previous experience within a leadership senior role i.e. Band 6/7,
responsible for multiple clinical and non-clinical staff;
- Registered Nurse Level 1 or Registered practitioner / Diploma / relevant
Health Speciality Degree/ Degree Level qualification;
- Evidence of relevant professional development, both clinically,
managerially, preferably evidenced by a registered qualification with the NMC,
HCPC or GPC;
- Awareness of NMC Code of Accountability and HCPC Standards of
Proficiency and the HCPC / GPC Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
- Good financial awareness, including business planning and budgeting;
- The Day Unit Manager is responsible for providing clinical direction and
strong, professional leadership as directed by the Head of Clinical Services to
all clinical staff including nursing, allied health professionals and medical
staff either directly employed or working under practising privileges;
- The Day Unit Manager must drive the delivery of excellent clinical
