Due to a recent growth in patient numbers, and change of personnel we are looking to recruit an experienced Practice Nurse to join our friendly team at Grange Medical Practice.
Grange Medical Practice is a busy, inner-city Practice in the south of Cardiff, serving a diverse population of 11,500 patients. We are an 8-partner training practice with an experienced and friendly nursing team.
We operate from a large modern practice, with excellent facilities/treatment rooms etc, including free on-site parking.
Main duties of the job
Job responsibilities (May vary depending on qualifications)
Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by the clinical team.
Cytology
Wound care / ulcer care/Doppler
Removal of Sutures
New Patient Medicals/Urinalysis
Travel Clinic Immunisations/Advice
ECGs
Asthma/Peak Flow Readings/Spirometry
Venepuncture
Administer B12, Prostap etc.
Support of clinicians with minor surgery, coil fittings etc.
Hypertension Management
Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations/Annual Flu campaign.
Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate.
Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
Diabetes and Respiratory Reviews
Contraception.
Other clinical tasks that are within training and responsibility limits
Other tasks
Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs
Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms.
Ordering of disposables to maintain stock levels

We are a busy, thriving 8 partner Practice in the vibrant, multi cultural area of Grangetown, Cardiff. We operate from a modern, purpose built surgery in the heart of Grangetown, with excellent transport links and plenty of secure parking on-site. Supported by an experienced nursing team, plus a cheerful, capable admin/ reception team, we believe that this is a great place to work. We are high achieving QAIF and also a training Practice, providing training to both GP Registrars and Year 3 & 5 medical students. We have recently grown by 3000 patients (now 11500) due to the closure of a neighbouring Practice, and so we are looking forward to exciting times ahead.
