We are looking for a new salaried doctor to join our excellent and supportive clinical team from September 2025.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide consultations, diagnosis, and treatment for patients.

  • Manage long term conditions and provide preventive healthcare.

  • Prescribe medications and refer patients to specialists when needed.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and complete necessary documentation.

  • Participate in clinical meetings, audits, and quality improvement activities.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for coordinated care.

  • Support training and supervision of junior staff, if required.

  • Adhere to NHS Wales and GMC professional standards.

We are looking for a new salaried doctor to join our excellent and supportive clinical team from September 2025.

Our current team consists of four GP partners, 3 salaried GPs, practice pharmacist and two nurse prescribers, all ably supported by a full multidisciplinary team. We are an active participant in the Bridgend East collaborative and a well respected training practice for over 30 years.

With 15 minute appointments and an appropriate mix of telephone and face to face, patients receive the holistic care they need.

We have many exciting opportunities in which to get involved, with our wide range of clinical services, GP, and other clinical training, and a whole variety of other interests including sports medicine, vasectomies.

Our list size is around 12,000, split over two sites, and we have aspirations to move brand new, purpose built facility over the next 3 to 5 years.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and motivated GP to help us move our practice forward in these exciting and challenging times.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Medical Degree, MBBS or equivalent
  • Full Registration with the General Medical Council GMC
  • Inclusion on the GMC GP Register
  • Inclusion on the Welsh Medical Performers List
  • Right to Work in the UK

Desirable

  • Safeguarding training Level 3

Experience

Essential

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi disciplinary team.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Understanding of the pressures faced by GPs and healthcare teams.
  • Willingness to contribute to and participate in a peer support group.
  • Current registration with the GMC and appropriate representation with a recognised medical defence organisation.
  • IT proficient and familiarity with primary care clinical systems, the Practice uses EMIS. Familiarity in using the Microsoft suite of programmes.
  • Proven ability to handle a busy and varied primary care caseload.
  • Proven ability to offer support within a clinical team and share learning points in Practice meetings.
  • Ability to draft cogent, error free letters and reports in a timely manner.
  • A good understanding of GMS contracting requirements and the operation of the Quality Assurance and Improvement Framework QAIF
