We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated salaried GP to join us, with a view to future partnership for 6 sessions.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to undertake all normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working in primary care, including:

Manage patient caseloads and deal with a wide range of health needs, face to face and telephone consultations, queries and visiting patients at home and dealing with queries, paperwork, referrals and correspondence in a timely manner.

Work as part of a team, supporting other team members by sharing clinical knowledge and experience.

We are a suburban practice with mixed socio-economic population. A modern skill mixed progressive team serving a population of around 8700 patients - with 2 GP Partners, 1 Salaried GP, 1 long term Locum GP, 3 ANP's, 1 Practice Nurse, 1 HCSW and an excellent administration support team. We use Emis web and have access to Lexacom digital dictation. We have easy and fast access to M56, M53 and A55 so are easily accessible from Cheshire, Merseyside, Manchester and North Wales. We are uniquely localised between two nearest hospitals providing secondary care services - Wrexham, under NHS Wales and Chester under NHS England.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Undertake a variety of duties including surgery face to face and telephone consultations, queries and where applicable visiting patients at home

Checking and signing repeat prescriptions, dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion

Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self referred or referred from other health care workers/organisations

Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols and developing care plans for health

Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards and read codes.

Compiling and issuing computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions

Prescribing in accordance with practice prescribing formulary, or generically whenever this is clinically appropriate

Adhering to Practice polices and procedures

Ensuring adherence to GDPR and confidentiality

Adhering to equality and diversity

GMC with no restrictions

Currently on national GP register

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Clear and polite manner

Effective time management

Disclosure and Barring check compulsory

Desirable:
