About us
Corwen is a small town conveniently situated on the A5 with good access to Snowdonia National Park within a 30 minute drive as well as the larger towns and cities on the English/Welsh border. This is a friendly, bilingual area with natural beauty and leisure opportunities.
The practice is located in a newly redeveloped and expanded Health Board owned property in Corwen. The clinical team consists of 2 GP partners, 2 Nurse Practitioners, 2 Practice Nurses and a Health Care Assistant. There are other multidisciplinary teams attached to the practice including extended Audiology services, Midwifery, Health Visiting and Mental health support. We teach medical students from Cardiff, Bangor and Swansea as well as participating in Primary Care research. We have an FY1 LIFT doctor working in the practice and we are hoping to complete training to take GP Registrars. We are part of a well established cluster with availability of a cluster funded Nurse Practitioner service to offer a visiting service for the local Residential home.
We have a strong focus on work-life balance and offer 15 minute telephone and face to face appointments, opportunities for training and developing special interests. As we are a small team we have good continuity of care and we try to ensure that the more complex patients get a regular GP. We also have a weekly clinical meeting where complex cases can be discussed as well as presenting appraisal activities such as audits etc.
