Pendre Surgery is a thriving GMS Practice situated in Holywell, Flintshire, North Wales. We are the only Investors in People (IIP) accredited GP Practice in North Wales and were shortlisted for the UK company of the year 2022 award.
We have just over 10,600 patients registered at the Surgery and have 4 GP Partners who provide personalised patient care and who are supported by 2 salaried doctors, 2 advanced nurse practitioners, 3 practice nurses, 2 healthcare assistants as well as a skilled dispensing team.
We are looking to recruit a newly qualified nurse to join our well established, friendly and very busy practice. Full training will be provided in disease management, smears etc.
The post is for 24 - 32 hours per week over 4 days depending on candidates preference.
You must be self-motivated, conscientious, professional, enthusiastic and able to use your own initiative.
The successful candidate must be an active team player and be very flexible to work within a team.
Starting salary £28410.00 (full time equivalent)

Main duties of the job
Take a lead role is assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients within the practice population.
Ensure high standards of care are provided to all patients who have contact with the nursing team and take appropriate action when agreed standards are not met.
In conjunction with other members of the Primary Care Team, assists in the development of guidelines and protocols for managing practice population.
Participates in research and assists with audits/clinical trials with the practice.
Liaise with all members of the primary health care team and other agencies (such as local authority social services) in order to assure appropriate care is provided for the practice population.
Participates in the induction and training of new staff/student nurses
Participates in the teaching of students, Health Care Assistants
Post holder will be expected to adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and has responsibility to familiarise themselves with the Health and Safety at Work Act, ensuring the welfare and safety of staff and patients within the practice environment.

Formal Qualification(s) required to fulfil the duties of this post:
1st level Registered Nurse with at least 2 years experience at Band 5 or above, within Community/Practice Nursing or can show adequate knowledge of Primary Care. Experience required in chronic disease management, diabetes and minor illness but not essential as training will be provided

It is a standard element of the role and responsibility of all practice staff that they fulfil a proactive role towards the management of risk in all their actions. This entails the risk assessment of all situations, the taking of appropriate actions and reporting of all incidents, near misses and hazards.
Records Management
As an employee of the practice, you are legally responsible for all records that you gather, create or use as part of your work within the practice (including patient health, financial, personal and administrative), whether paper or computer based. All such records are considered pubic records, and you have a legal duty of confidence to service users (even after the employee has left the practice employment). You should consult your line manager as to the correct management of records with which you work.
Health & Safety Requirements
All employees of the practice have a statutory duty of care for their own personal safety and that of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions.
