Job summary

Morlais Health is a large training practice in Merthyr Tydfil led by a young, dynamic team of partners. We have supportive working environment with a formal mentoring offered to our salaried GPs. We regularly hold in-house CPD/Clinical Governance meetings. Due to a recent merger, we are looking to add to our clinical team to continue to provide excellent healthcare.

About us

Hello! We are one of the largest GP practices in Wales serving over 20,000 patients across three sites. We have a great team of 7 partners, 8 salaried GPs, 5 nurses, 4 HCAs and a clinical pharmacist. We have first contact physio every day and GP Support officers who deal with housing, benefits, social services queries, social prescribing etc.

Job responsibilities

Our Team:

  • 9 GP Partners and 7 Salaried GPs

  • 6 Practice Nurses, including an independent prescriber

  • Training doctors GPSTs, F2s Clinical Pharmacist independent prescriber

  • HCA-led Chronic Disease Management Clinics Direct access physiotherapy every day

  • Advanced workflow trained admin staff, no Docman for salaried GPs

  • Dedicated Prescribing Team for patient prescription queries and repeat requests

  • GP Support Officers directly accessible to help manage patients with benefit and social problems and low-level mental health

  • Named mentor for all Salaried GPs

  • A GP Partner is also Chair of the LMC

  • Practice Manager is a qualified Chartered Accountant, a GP Collaborative Management Lead and member of the Accelerated Cluster Development Board
