Job summary

Cross Hands and Tumble Medical Partnership require an additional General Practitioner.

Vacancy 6 sessions per week (different availability/requests will be considered)

Salary BMA rates negotiable depending on experience

Model BMA contract

6 weeks A/L (pro rata) + Bank Holidays

5 days study leave

We are happy to support involvement in the practice-training programmes and anyone who would be interested in developing into a trainer role/or development of special interests.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a proactive and highly motivated person to become part of our friendly and excellent team. We are a training practice with registrars, medical and pharmacist students, having strong links to Swansea Medical School.The successful applicant will be encouraged to take an active role in the leadership and development of the practice, incorporating all the aspects of being a GP. We believe in trust, teamwork and communication. Our current way of working provides a modern primary care that helps us ensure that our staff feel valued, focused on their role and that they have the drive and ambition they need to achieve their own personal potential

Duties will include:

Delivery of a high standard of primary care to our patients;

Effective management of a patient's long-term condition;

Processing of administration including referrals, prescription requests and other associated tasks;

Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload;

Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvements, development and quality initiatives within the practice;

Attend and contribute to clinical and MDT meetings;

Support the partners in achieving strategic aims, including enhancing income and reducing expenditure of the practice;

We are a semi-rural practice with 7,500 patients across two site, situated in the Aman Gwendreath Valley. We will be moving into a purpose built Well Being Centre in 2025/2026 and will become a single site practice. Currently we have 3 partners and 1 salaried GP

  • Full/clean driving licence
  • Desirable
  • The individual should enjoy working as part of a supportive team, possess good communication skills and have good general IT skills. Experience of using the clinical system Vision is desirable.
  • Flexibility, compassion and a "can do" approach is essential for this position.
  • You will be well supported by the Surgery's GPs, ANP, Clinical Pharmacist, Practice Nurses, Management team, Reception team and excellent Administrative staff. All will be on hand if you have the desire to learn Welsh.
