Job summary

  • To clean in all areas of the community hospital, clinical and non-clinical areas.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Key tasks:

  • Complies with instruction received from their line manager.
  • Ensuring proper standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained at a high standard within Facilities services.
  • To be aware of and able to practice the Trusts policies and procedures pertaining to Fire, Health and Safety, First Aid, Security, untoward incidents in general and to the specific working location in particular.
  • To attend Mandatory and Statuary training sessions as required.
  • To have an understanding of C.O.S.H.H and to adhere to the guidelines.
  • Report all incidents/accidents to your line manager and the risk team.
  • Maintain good communications and co-operation with all departments.
  • To correctly use and maintain Trust equipment reporting any malfunctions and concerns to your line manager.
  • Attend regular 121s with your line manager as necessary.
  • To ensure all stock levels are maintained to replenish supplies.
  • To request cleaning or equipment supplies as and when required from your team leader or supervisor.
  • To work as a member of the Facilities Team, striving to achieve and maintain high standard within the community hospital.

  • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene at all times in accordance with Trusts and departmental hygiene policies, with particular attention to hand washing procedures.

  • Wear uniform and utilise all personal protective equipment and use all safety devices provided for protection.

  • Be aware of emergency procedures for your department and locking up of stores and the main kitchen when shift finishes.

  • Prepare, plate up, serve food and beverages to inpatients, day patients, staff and visitors.

  • Deep clean of all equipment, walls (within reach), working surfaces, windows, (within reach), floors, dry storage areas and cupboards as per the site cleaning schedule.
  • Record temperatures of fridges and freezes, clean and sanitizer daily as per the food hygiene policy.
  • Feedback information as and when necessary to your line manager.
  • Receipting of all chilled, frozen, and dry provisions on behalf of Facilities services and ensuring the correct storage and stock rotation takes place in line with HACCP.
