Job summary
We have
an exciting opportunity for a Advanced Physiotherapist at Princess Alexandra
Hospital NHS Trust to join the MSK Physiotherapy Outpatient Service. You will
be responsible for providing skilled team leadership in planning and delivering
high standards of physiotherapy assessment, management, treatment, and advice
to patients attending the MSK outpatient service. You will manage and support
the advanced assessment and management of patients with complex or
multi-pathology presentations, determining the best delivery of care in
collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT). You will work as an
autonomous professional, adhering to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
(CSP) Rules of Professional Conduct and Standards of Physiotherapy, as well
as the Health Professions Council (HPC) regulations.
Main duties of the job
As an
Advanced Physiotherapist you will be responsible for undertaking service
reviews and audits to evaluate quality, efficiency, and patient outcomes,
implementing changes in practice to maintain a high standard of clinical care.
You will be responsible for developing professional relationships locally,
regionally, and nationally, where required, to support the development of
clinical pathways relevant to the service. You will also take a lead role in
supervising, teaching, and appraising physiotherapists, non-qualified
physiotherapy staff, students to graduate level, and multi-disciplinary team
(MDT) staff, supporting their professional development and ensuring excellence
in physiotherapeutic care within this specialty.

To continue developing highly specialist clinical skills and knowledge by
practicing across a wide range of MSK outpatient conditions, attending
in-service training sessions, and completing specialist personal development
activities as identified in individual Personal Development Plans.

To maintain personal professional registration and accountability by
complying with requirements of the relevant professional body, exercising
professional responsibility, and following departmental and Trust policies to
ensure ongoing licensure and safe practice.

To plan, organise, and deliver departmental training and education
sessions that support the professional and personal development of staff,
ensuring knowledge and skills are consistently enhanced across the team.

To ensure accurate, timely, and effective communication with patients,
carers, and relevant MDT members regarding patient care, including maintaining
comprehensive clinical records in line with Trust and professional body
standards.

To oversee competency development and clinical education of staff and
physiotherapy students on placement, ensuring all team members achieve and
maintain high standards of practice and clinical outcomes.

- HCPC registered Physiotherapist with Degree in Physiotherapy.
