An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Clinical Psychologist with experience of working in Learning Disabilities services to join the team at The Oxford Clinical Psychology Training Course.
This plan outlines the role and responsibilities of a part time (15 hours per week) clinical psychologist role with primary responsibility for supporting the ID stream on the Oxford Clinical Psychology training course.
The Oxford Clinical Psychology Training Course employs 156 trainee clinical psychologists. Each trainee completes a 6-month placement and an Integrated Clinical Report in NHS Intellectual Disability Services and receives training in working clinically with people with intellectual disabilities throughout the second year of their training. This role will support the ID lead in coordinating aspects of the stream.
Main duties of the job
Attend meetings with the academic team when required to support with planning and coordinating the ID timetable.
Support with reviewing the teaching feedback for all sessions in the ID stream throughout the year and send out to presenters.Feed ideas for changes to syllabus to academic team.
Knowledge of the theory, evidence base and practice of specialised psychological assessments and interventions for people with intellectual disabilities.
Ability to use initiative to plan and organise activities and programmes, requiring adjustment as necessary.
Attend weekly 1 hour supervision and line management meeting with ID stream lead. All tasks to be supervised and supported by ID stream lead.
