Main duties of the job

  • Closely liaison with nursing staff and Lead Advanced Pharmacist for cancer to plan the timely delivery of chemotherapy to the day case and in-patient and other aseptic products across the Trust.
  • Agree the scheduling of patients with Lead Advanced Pharmacist Cancer and chemotherapy nurses to ensure that there is minimal waste of chemotherapy and within the capacity of the Aseptic Units.
  • Consult with pharmacy, medical, nursing, portering, and managerial staff as appropriate in order to resolve problems and ensure the efficient running of the service.
  • Co-ordination and supervision of the team working in the aseptic units and support area delivering cancer medication and affiliated services.
  • Handling issues related to treatment of patients with medicines, who are seriously ill and in advanced or end stages of disease, especially cancer.
