Main duties of the job
- Manage the day-to-day Medical Records department (Scanning Bureau, Clinic Prep, Admissions and Access to Health Records) reporting to the Digital Director on all matters affecting delivery of core services.
- Be professionally accountable for all aspects of health records within the Trust, including devolved services, and to provide professional health records advice within the Trust and to other outside providers and patients as required.
- Use of analytical skills to review and generate reports for record management data/deliverables and make recommendations to service users and projects.
- Linking in with the Digital teams and EPR Programme developing initiatives and managing the implementation of projects to modernise services and improve facilities and working practices to meet organisational and service delivery plans. Develop complex option papers and business cases to support change.
- Senior involvement in the management of the EDMS system (Evolve) ensuring all patient records on the EDMS are readily available for patient care. Linking in with the Informatics teams and supplier as required.
- Senior involvement in the managing of the back-end system of the EDMS (Merido) linking in with Informatics colleagues as required.
