Princess Anne Hospital is a centre of excellence for maternity care providing a comprehensive service for around 5000 women each year. They are also a regional centre for fetal and maternal medicine.
Main duties of the job
We have flexible bank shifts and long-term placement opportunities for RGN available at UHS. Nurses are required to work in our theatres department We are looking for anaesthetic nurses / ODP. Scrub Nurses / ODP and Recovery Nurses/ ODP

- To act as patient advocate and to maintain high standards of patient care, appropriate to the age
of the patient, where relevant and ensuring that patient objectives are achieved using a
systematic approach to patient care.
- To assess plan deliver and evaluate individualised patient centred care and provide support and
advice to other staff as appropriate
- To receive patients and their relatives in accordance with recognised policies and ensure that
they are kept informed of treatment and progress.
- To arrange the care of patients property, in accordance with Unit policies and within the
limitations of hospital responsibilities.
- To liaise with all members of the multi-professional team to ensure that all treatments are
correctly carried out in accordance with given policy.
- Demonstrate an awareness of resources and cost-effective measures in planning care.
- Implement the role of the perioperative practitioner in minimising the health and safety risk to
patients, visitors and all members of staff.
- Identify the criteria for good practice in minimising the risk of infection within the guidelines of the
Infection Control Policy.
- Have an understanding of Infection Prevention and use of Standard Precautions following Trust
Infection Prevention policies.
- Provides skilled assistance in one or more core areas- scrub, anaesthetics and recovery duties
to the level of core competencies.
- With appropriate experience and training, work flexibly across specialities.
- With appropriate experience and training, lead and delegate work within a team of staff,
recognising and utilising members of the teams skills effectively through appropriate work
