Main duties of the job

Be able to use a high level of empathy when discussing diagnosis and prognosis

Be able to adapt interaction style to facilitate communication where patients/carers may themselves have impaired communication or find the information difficult to accept

Have a high level of both written and communication skills

Have strong analytical skills to interpret complex and/or conflicting clinical information

Be able to consider the opinions and priorities of other people and organisations when planning interventions
