subspecialty interests. This position is based at the Stockport NHS Foundation
Trust in the North of England. Through our innovative Doctors Gateway Plus
Programme, you'll have the opportunity to enhance your skills and gain new,
relevant experience by working at an appropriate grade within the renowned
National Health Service (NHS) healthcare system.
About
the role:
As a Consultant Radiologist at Stockport NHS
Foundation Trust, you will support the radiology service in your subspecialty
areas, provide general radiological services, and contribute to
clinic-radiological meetings, teaching programs, and the on-call service.
Some
duties may involve performing subspecialty musculoskeletal and
uroradiology imaging reporting and ultrasound scanning, conduct image-guided
musculoskeletal interventional procedures, and support the relevant
multidisciplinary teams (MDTs).
Main duties of the job
The hospital is known for its excellent clinical teams and committed Radiology Department. The successful candidate will support their subspecialist interest and provide general radiological services. The hospital has a broad district general workload, with an increasing need for subspecialisation. Flexibility to develop subspecialisation according to service needs and candidate interests is available.
The role involves contributing to the department's general workload, subspecialty musculoskeletal/uroradiology imaging reporting, USS scanning, image-guided musculoskeletal interventional procedures, and supporting relevant MDTs. The final job plan will be agreed upon with the Clinical Director and Chief Executive, depending on the candidate's subspecialty interest.
The position includes 8.5 PA clinical sessions, 0.6 PA on-call, and 1.5 SPA for audit, teaching, and training. All consultants commit to plain film reporting and ultrasound, with opportunities to develop special interests. New consultants receive 1.5 SPA and 8.5 PA clinical sessions for the first year, with a review at 12 months to potentially convert up to 1 PA of DCC to SPA based on departmental needs. Job plans are reviewed annually.
