Job summary

The post holder will support Hotel services and deliver a professional, efficient and cost effective service with regards to the delivery of patient meals at Colchester Hospital.

The post holder will be required to adhere to specific cleaning and caterings tasks with supervision, using the materials and equipment as they have been trained and instructed by the Supervisor. They will require a good understanding of Food Hygiene COSHH and HACCP responsibilities for due diligence within the role.

The post holder will be required to engage with ward & departmental staff, colleagues, line managers, patients, and other stakeholders and to deliver the highest standards of customer care and service to ensure a pleasant, safe, clean and welcoming environment.

To provide an efficient and effective high quality kitchen porter service which meets the needs of the Trust work schedules. This role will mainly emcompass the service of all meals and beverages to patients whilst maintaining due diligence in response to the Food Hygiene regulations 2006.

Main duties of the job

Catering Assistant to help support a busy catering team. Rolw will incorporate elements of a Kitchen Porter role as well as a Food Services Assistant. Duties will include a Restaurant Service, Washing up/keeping the kitchen clean and tidy, working in the trolley room and stores.
