Job Title: Care Support Worker - Learning Disabilities

What you will be responsible for: -

  • Ability to work without direct supervision

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

Essential

  • Experience of working in a Mental Health or Learning Disabilities environment
  • Previous NHS Experience

Qualifications

Essential

  • All Care support worker roles will be required to provide evidence of completing the Care Certificate or a relevant qualification. Evidence accepted includes:
  • Student Nurse with at least 12 weeks clinical placements.
  • Care Certificate from an NHS Organisation
  • QCF Level 2 Diploma in Healthcare Support Services issued after 2011
  • QCF Level 2 OR above Diploma in Health & Social Care or Clinical Healthcare Support issued after 2011
  • QCF Level 3 OR above Diploma in Healthcare Support or Maternity & Paediatric Support issued after 2011 (For Paediatric & Maternity roles only)
  • Degree /Diploma in Nursing and currently do not have an NMC Registration.

Desirable

  • MAPA or Safety Intervention training Advanced and Emergency Desirable however if you do not hold this training will be provided. Once 10 shifts have been complete we will pay you for the training days.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Service Users physical/emotional needs
  • IT Literate
  • Understanding of promotion of independent living
  • Understanding the principles of Service Users with complex needs/ challenging behaviour
