The Role:

We are currently looking candidates for permanent role Band 6 MRI Radiographer area to join our amazing team.

Job Summary

With a vision of working together to be the best for patients, the post holder will ensure the smooth running of the MRI service by using radiographic skill and ability.

Ensure a quality service with a high standard of patient care with the outcome of a positive patient experience, and to comply with the Trusts Values and Behaviours as set out below.

Key Responsibilities

To undertake imaging procedures within area of speciality.

To maintain a high standard of work and to strive for continual improvements in radiographic standards and patient care.

To manipulate and manoeuvre radiographic equipment and patients in order to obtain high quality diagnostic images within the departments protocols and procedures.

To participate in the appropriate Band 6 rota system including out of hours and on-call duties as required by the Radiology Services Manager to cover service commitments.

To explain procedures to patients in order to facilitate their full understanding and co-operation throughout the examination.

To undertake the intravenous injection of contrast media in compliance with the Directorate protocol if required by their role.

Other requirements specific to the role

To work 7.5 hours shifts Monday to Friday Flexible approach to working.

• Will Rotate between department/location as per the requirement of the Trust. From time to time will need to work from theLoughboroughsite, The candidate needs to be made aware of this and agreement sought before CV submission (Non-negotiable)

Access to Patients

In undertaking the duties outlined above the post holder will have access to patients. This means that the post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and all post holders must disclose any criminal conviction including those considered as spent under the Act. Post holders appointed to this will be required to consent to a check through the Criminal Records Bureau.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Effort

Frequent movement of equipment and transfer of patients.

Mental Effort

Daily multi-tasking in order to meet deadlines and deal with unpredictable work patterns.

Emotional Effort

Occasional exposure to patients with emotional and psychological problems.

Current HCPC registration as a Radiographer.

Diploma of College of Radiographers or B.Sc. Hons in Diagnostic Radiography

Experience in MR Imaging

Experience within the NHS/associated support MRI providers

Evidence of management of workload and patient pathway.

To be able to maneuver patients and the appropriate MR coils.

Essential Requirements

Experience in MR Imaging

Evidence of management of workload and patient pathway.

Experience evidenced in variety of scanning procedures (e.g. Cardiac, Neuro, Spectroscopy and work on Complex Wards.

Rotation between department/location as per the requirement of the Trust. From time to time will need to work from the Loughborough site.
