Hours: Full time Up to 37.5 hours per week

The Role

We have an opportunity available for a HCPC registered Dietician, to work within a team of dietitians to provide a service to adult inpatients and outpatients, with a specialist focus on gastroenterology. This includes acting as a source of expertise to patients and healthcare professionals in the dietary management and treatment of a diverse range of clinical conditions, regularly attending parenteral nutrition rounds, attending nutrition multi-disciplinary team meetings, and managing 1-2 junior dietetic staff members.

To lead on dietetic input for patients with gastroenterology diagnoses. To take responsibility for the development of this service and provision of specialised dietetic advice to the gastroenterology ward. The caseload will also include other wards such as general medical and/or surgical acute wards, and an outpatient clinic.

To accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients, and to organise this effectively and efficiently regarding clinical and service priorities.

To conduct nutritional assessments and implement individualised, evidence-based treatment plans, including the calculation of nutritional requirements and interpretation of medical information. This will require analysing highly complex, and sometimes conflicting information, liaising with other healthcare professionals, and will include ethical decision making as part of a team.
