Job summary
We are seeking a forward thinking and experienced Operations Manager to lead the day to day service delivery of a busy private ambulance service. The job is 40 hours per week and will be based at our office in Aylburton near Lydney. You will receive 27 days of annual leave a year and a contributory pension
Main duties of the job
What will we want you to do?
- To monitor governance and service delivery to provide operational excellence in line with established standards
- To build and develop strong relationships with stakeholders and customers
- Lead, motivate, and manage the staff team
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate operational effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, quality standards, and legal requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Represent the organisation at external meetings, industry events, and stakeholder engagements as required
- Be part of a 7 day a week service rota requirement, This Post will involve some unsociable hours and regular weekend work
Essential SkillsRequired
- Proven experience in a front line management role preferably in an ambulance or healthcare background
- Specific staff management experience and proof of motivating a team
- Exemplary organisational skills and keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team leadership and stakeholder engagement. This includes both verbal and written ability.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis
- Sound knowledge of health & safety regulations, quality assurance standards, and legal compliance.
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and adaptability
- IT proficient with a good knowledge of Microsoft packages
- Driving Licence is essential
About us
We are a busy, private ambulance service based in the Forest of Dean. We offer a wide range of services including, Patient Transport, HDU and Front line work. We also provide event medical cover, film and television medical support and repatriation services.
With 16 years of experience we are well established and experienced. We can offer flexibility and a varied role with some office based days, some visiting crews on the road and some visiting customers.
