Job summary
Swanwood Partnership is looking for a flexible and proactive receptionist / administrator who can confidently work across both front-of-house reception duties and back-office administrative tasks.This is not a "sit on reception all day" role: we are looking for someone who can adapt, learn, and step into different parts of the practice as needed.
The receptionist plays a pivotal role in the experience of patients at our practice,helping them to access the right services and dealing with their queries face-to-face, online and by telephone.

Main duties of the job
Reception Duties:
- Welcoming patients and providing a professional, friendly first point of contact
- Managing a busy telephone system
- Booking and managing appointments
- Handling patient queries with care and efficiency
Administrative Duties:
- Supporting clinical triage processes
- Managing incoming correspondence and documents
- Processing patient records and registrations
- General back-office support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

General practice is a challenging environment that requires a calm and caring approach with the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience, offers excellent communication skills, and has the following attributes:
Essential
- Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients and colleagues at all times.
- Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong IT and administration skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable.
- Flexible and willing to take on both reception and admin responsibilities
- All applicants should ensure that they live within reasonable commuting distance.
- Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues.
- General practice experience is highly desirable and will be prioritised, however we are open to training the right individual who demonstrates: commitment, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
