Pharmacy Technician

Job summary

Creffield Medical Group in Colchester are looking to welcome a full-timePCN Pharmacy Technician on a 1 year fixed term contract. The role will include some sessions to oversee our dispensary at Nayland Surgery and a dispensing background is desirable. .

The successful candidate will benefit from this opportunity to build up strong working relationships, across our organisation, and will be actively involved in how their role evolves over time.

Main duties of the job

• developing our prescribing systems to ensure safe, effective and efficient prescribing within the PCN;
• supporting the reception and administration teams, at our member practices, with complex medication queries;
• supporting the GP partners on prescribing projects and cost/safety audits and actions.
• managing patient prescriptions
• supporting medication reviews and reconciliations
• advising patients and healthcare professionals on medication-related queries
• developing our prescribing systems to ensure safe, effective and efficient
• supporting the reception and administration teams with complex medication queries
• supporting the GP partners on prescribing projects and cost/safety audits and actions
• minimising medication wastage

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

• Registered pharmacy technician with the GPhC;
• Diploma Level 3 in pharmacy services, or equivalent;

Experience

Essential

• Have strong experience in either a community pharmacy or a primary care setting;
• Confident in analysing and presenting information to health professionals;
• Have experience of implementing and promoting cost-effective strategies;
• Have the ability to interpret complex clinical information and present it in suitable formats, to a variety of people from professional and non-professional backgrounds.
