Job summary

Brundall Medical Partnership is recruiting for a dispensary manager to manage and oversee the smooth daily working of the practice dispensary ensuring quality standards of safe, effective, well-led, caring and response are maintained and that the dispensary is cost-effective to the practice. The dispensary manager ensures compliance with all relevant legislation, professional standards, and NHS contractual requirements while maintaining high standards of patient care and supporting the practices clinical and management administrative teams by always working in close collaboration with them.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead and manage the dispensary team, ensuring effective staffing, training, and performance management.
  • Organise staff rotas and leave to ensure adequate dispensary cover.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and annual appraisals.
  • Promote teamwork and effective communication within the dispensary and across the wider practice
  • Oversee the accurate and safe preparation, labelling, and dispensing of prescriptions in line with current legislation and practice protocols.
  • Oversee the financial performance of the dispensary, including drug purchasing, profitability, and reimbursement claims.
  • Provide advice and information to patients regarding medicines and their safe use.
  • Ensure dispensary staff maintain up-to-date qualifications and mandatory training.

About us

Brundall Medical Partnership is located 6 miles east of Norwich. We are a Dispensing Practice of around 8500 patients of which 3900 patients are dispensing. Our team consists of 1 GP Partner, 1 ANP Partner, 3 Salaried GP's, 1 Physician Assistant and 1 Paramedic Practitioner along with an amazing Nursing Team, Reception Team, Administration Team and Dispensary team.

  • Proven recent experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a dispensary, pharmacy, or retail environment
  • High level of organisation and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership and team management skills in current or recent role.
  • Ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced dispensary setting
  • Knowledge of inventory management and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
