Salaried GP

Job summary

Constable Country Medical Practice, based in Colchester and Ipswich, is looking to recruit 3 salaried GPs to work 6 sessions each per week. This role would be working across both our sites, East Bergholt and Capel St Mary.

Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group.

Main duties of the job

The role will include all general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care, as well as:

• Undertaking a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence.
• Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation.
• Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
• Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
• Developing care plans for health inconsultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
• Providing health education.
• Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards.
• Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements.
• Delivering enhanced services.
• Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.

At Constable Country Medical Practice, we care for 12,250 patients across two sites, and have a clinical team of 3 GP partners, 2 salaried GPs, 2 nurse practitioners and a paramedic. We are also a GP training practice. Our team of healthcare professionals and additional clinicians offer a number of clinics and services to promote good health and wellbeing. This may include services offered by the midwife, podiatrist or acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine doctor.
