Are you an experienced nurse focused on delivering exceptional care to children, young people and families? Join EACHs specialist Symptom Management Service and make a meaningful difference every day.

Your impact

You'll provide advanced, holistic palliative and symptom management care to babies, children and young people with complex, life limiting conditions across Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and parts of Essex. Working both independently and as part of a multi-professional team, you'll offer expert clinical assessment, guidance and support in a range of settings, including home, hospital, hospice and virtual consultations.

This EACH Care Band 7 opportunity is a full time or part timer ole(minimum 30 hours per week). Monday Friday with on-call duties that may be require weekends and nights. Mandatory Friday working. Our service is provided in a 24/7, 365 day environment; on call may include weekend & Bank Holidays.

Enhanced Rates - Weekends, Evenings & Bank Holidays:

  • +30% Saturdays & Evenings
  • +60% Sundays & Bank Holidays
  • Competitive on-call rates

Main duties of the job

  • Delivering advanced symptom management and specialist nursing care
  • Acting as a key contact for families and professionals
  • Undertaking complex clinical assessments and offering expert advice
  • Supporting end of life planning and coordinated care
  • Providing education and mentorship to colleagues and external partners
  • Participating in the 24/7 on call rota to ensure timely support

  • 3+ years experience
  • Skilled in caring for babies, children and young people with complex or palliative needs
  • Skilled in strong assessment, clinical decision making and communication
  • Confident working autonomously and collaboratively
  • Able to travel across the region and support out of hours care
  • Experience of working with babies, children and young people with palliative care needs
  • Evidence of being an autonomous worker
  • Evidence of significant post-registration experience in paediatric services, working at Band 6 or above
  • Experience of managing staff and resources on a day to day basis, including clinical supervision, mentoring and appraisal
  • Experience working in the community
  • *A Full UK Driving License and access to own vehicle is essential for this role*
