Mendlesham Medical Group has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced or a newly qualified phlebotomist to join our team on a part-time basis, for 17.5 - 20 hours per week working on Monday to Fridays at our branch site at Bacton. Main duties of the job
- Working strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols to assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care;
- Collecting samples of blood in accordance with training and procedures, ensuring correct storage, labelling, recording and efficient dispatching of samples;
- Ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible, and confirming their agreement to the collection of a blood sample;
- Checking patient identification against GP or nurse request, and confirming with the patient whenever possible;
- Ensuring that anomalies are reported to a senior member of staff;
- Notifying the GP of any significant patient issues;
- Liaising with and assisting members of the administrative team.
